Elmhurst Pre-school

About Elmhurst

Aktiva Elmhurst Preschool is at the heart of Elmhurst, in the Alfred Rose Community Centre. We are a term-time-only setting, open from 8.30 to 3.30 with various sessions. At Aktiva Elmhurst Preschool, we are committed to providing a nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

We aim to:

Maintain a challenging environment that stimulates and prepares children for life through exciting and inspiring, free and structured play.

Support diversity and recognise that every child is an individual and unique. We nurture individuality and develop our children’s confidence to ensure every child feels safe and secure.

Incorporate four key values into our nursery alongside the British Values: Family partnerships, Community, Working Together: Learning Together, and Healthy and active lifestyles.

Stimulate and broaden experiences that help the children progress successfully and fulfil their potential.

Lauren

NURSERY MANAGER

With 18 years of experience in early years education and an NVQ level 3 qualification, I've served as a nanny and worked in various preschool settings. Additionally, I've collaborated with Action for Children to offer support and respite to parents of children with additional needs. I'm committed to continuous learning, particularly in supporting children with SEN, and I'm currently pursuing my SENCO level 3 qualification. I find fulfillment in nurturing children's development and preparing them for their transition to primary school.

Outside of work, I'm a mother to four children, ranging from 13 to 1 year old. Family is my top priority, and I cherish moments spent making memories with them.

Encourage the children to care for others, to learn about the world around them, and to enable them to be ready for school. Our goal is to accomplish all these objectives, creating a safe, happy, caring, secure, and stimulating environment for your child. This environment fosters the development of children's capabilities as successful learners and confident individuals, while also encouraging them to enjoy being adventurous, active, and healthy.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and we use Connect as our primary evaluation and child development platform..
